Delhi. 4th July. INTERFAX – India’s Walchandnagar Industries and Russia’s Atomenergomash might get back to the idea of making a joint venture for localization of production of NPP equipment in Dahej, India, as suggested by Mr Kumar Pillai, Managing Director of Walchandnagar Industries.
“The idea of joint venture with Atomenergomash is still alive but at the moment it is frozen. However, I believe that there are prospects for its revival,” – he told to the journalists.
Mr Pillai also noted that in May 2016 his company signed a MoU with Rosatom to study the possibility of manufacturing components for nuclear industry.
“Localization of production of equipment for Indian NPPs will significantly reduce its cost. Besides, Russia will be able to export its equipment produced in India to the other Asian countries such as Vietnam or Bangladesh’, – he said.
Walchandnagar Industries is one of the largest manufacturing holding companies in India. Among its areas of focus is manufacture of equipment for the defense sector, for thermal power engineering and for the nuclear power industry.
