Delhi. 4th July. INTERFAX – By the end of this year Moscow and Delhi intend to sign an agreement on construction of GLONASS station in India, as told by Dr. Dhandapani Gowrisankar, Director of International Relations of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).
“Roskosmos wants to build the GLONASS station in India, and we want to build station for our navigation system IRNSS in Russia. The consultations for signing the agreement are going on at the moment”, – he told to the journalists.
According to Dr. Gowrisankar, the agreement is expected to be signed by the end of 2016. He added that the GLONASS station is likely to be built in Bangalore where central office of ISRO is located.
“Russian and India plan to jointly develop GLONASS program, we want to launch GLONASS satellites and contribute in making of new generation satellites”, – he added.
Dr Gowrisankar also noted that ISRO is engaged in active talks on technological support with Russian companies engaged in production of liquid rocket fuel.”
