April 5, 2016: Grundfos, the Denmark-based pump manufacturer has recently said that the usage of high-efficiency pumps has the potential to save around 4 per cent of the total electricity consumption by avoiding the wastage of electricity. The company further said that pumps consume close to 10 per cent of the global electrical energy and much is unnecessary waste. The saving from the usage of high-efficiency pumps is equivalent to the residential electricity consumption of around one billion people.
Pumps alone have the potential to offer significant saving to operators of commercial building, industrial applications, public buildings and water utilities.
The company further claimed that replacing pump systems can make an immediate difference and in many cases return on investment will be reached in just a couple of years, after which the new system results in pure savings.
